Dr Amos Made Awobi was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Augustine Alena Awobi on the 5th of May, 1968 in Ankpa, Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Dr Amos attended LGEA Primary school, Oguma between 1976 and 1981. He proceeded to Government Teachers’ College, Emiguni where he obtained the Teacher Grade II Certificate between 1982 and 1986.
Dr Amos started his teaching career in 1987 when he was employed by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Department of Administration. He was posted to Kwali Area Council as a teaching staff in May 1987.
By way of in-service training, he proceeded to Niger State College of Education, Minna between 1988 and 1992 and obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE); University of Abuja, 1996 – 2000; and 2004 – 2009 where he obtained B.A (Ed) English Language and M.A English Language respectfully. He also attended the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) Abuja between 2007 and2009 and obtained the Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism (PGDJ). He also proceeded to the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 2010 and 2018 where he obtained a PhD in English Language.
Dr Amos is married to Mrs Esther Joseph Amos and they have three (3) children together (Victoria, Miracle and Godwin).
Dr Amos can speak five languages fluently: Hausa, Igala, Bassa-Nge, Nupe and English Language. His working experiences include the following: between 1987 and 2005, he was a teaching staff in the FCT. Between 2005 and 2013, he was given a leadership responsibility as a Head teacher in one of the most populated schools in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. Between 2013 and 2019, he was appointed a Quality Assurance Officer overseeing primary and Junior Secondary Schools in Gwagwalada Area Council.
During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Dr Amos was posted to serve as a lecturer with Zamfara State College of Arts and Remedial Studies(ZACAS) before he was redeployed to the University of Abuja between 2002 and 2003. He has been combining his full-time job with part-time lecturing job at the University of Abuja since 2002. He is also serving as a Facilitator/Supervisor/Marker with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) since 2018 to date. Dr Amos loves reading, playing and watching football.
