DIRECTORATE OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)

Introduction

Directorate of ICT is a Directorate under the Vice-Chancellor’s Office with the responsibility of deploying ICT infrastructures and services that will make administrative, teaching and learning functions more efficiently and effectively.

The Directorate has Twenty Four (24) staff member with Dr. EDGAR OSAKPANWAN OSAGHAE as the Ag.Director. The unit under the Directorate of ICT are:

-   Administrative Unit

-   Software Unit

-   Networking Unit

-   Hardware Unit

Philosophy

The Directorate of ICT is to handle and coordinate those ICT services that are integrated within the University’s ICT infrastructure; define a control and management structure for the development and execution of ICT policies, strategies and services.

Vision

To provide University-wide access and utilization of Information and Communication Technology that enhances the position of Federal University Lokoja as a centre of excellence in the Nigerian Universities System’

Mission Statement

-   Provide robust scalable network that allows for upgrade at any point in time.

-   Providing computing services that make the jobs of teaching and non-teaching staff worthwhile.

-   Identify University-wide ICT skill gaps and close them through training and re-training.
