As part of events to mark the 3rd and 4th
combined Convocation Ceremony, the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education
Trust Fund (TETFund), Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro and his Team were in Federal
University Lokoja to commission completed TETFund Projects. They were conducted
round the Physical Projects under the year 2014 TETFund Special and Annual
Interventions at the Adankolo Campus by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Angela
Angela Freeman Miri along with the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council,
Emeritus Prof. Nimi Dimkpa Briggs, Members of the Governing Council, Principal
Officers, Deans, Heads of Departments and Units amongst others.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary (E.S.) expressed
satisfaction over the quality of the work, noting that he does not commission
substandard projects.
Some of the projects commissioned by the E.S. were: Two (2) Lecture Theatres
with 350 seating capacity, Departmental Office Block, Ultra-modern
Laboratories/Block of Classrooms, Departmental Office Block and Multi-Purpose
Hall. Others included the Re-Roofed and Renovated Senate/Council Chambers at
the Adankolo Campus.
The Executive Secretary was also led on an inspection tour of the newly
remodeled and expanded 20-bed Medical Centre earlier commissioned by the
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Angela F. Miri in September, 2019 in order to attract
the Fund’s intervention in equipping the Centre with modern facilities that
will serve both the University and the neigbouring Communities.
Prof. Bogoro equally used the opportunity to visit the University
Permanent Site in Felele to have firsthand grasp of the condition of the Site
and has shown readiness to support the University Management in making the Site
habitable and secure.
