The Governing
Council and Principal Staff of the Federal University Lokoja, Led by the
Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Senator Chris Iheanyichukwu Adighije on
Friday, 12th March, 2021 paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Fika and
Chairman, Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers Dr. Muhammad Abali Ibn
Muhammadu Idriss over the death of his eldest son, Prince Waziri Muhammad
Abali, who passed away on Saturday 27th February, 2021 in Abuja after a brief
illness.
The condolence
visit had in attendance the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi,
Professor Yahaya Shehu, Professor Rabiu Sani Shatsari, Honourable Mohammed Anka
representing the council: the Registrar Mr. Suleman Usman Obansa, John Shilo
Sule and Dr. Sarah Dauda Yani as Principal Staff.
Speaking on
behalf of the team, Prof. Yahaya Shehu described the death of the departed
Prince as painful and irreparable to the Emir and his family, the emirate, and
the state, adding that Prince Waziri would be missed.
Senator Chris
Adighije while consoling the family, prayed to God to grant the Emir, the
people of Fika Emirate and Yobe State in general the fortitude to bear the
irreparable loss adding that the entire University community feels deeply
saddened over the death, but encouraged the family to take solace in God.
