As more endorsements and goodwill continue to pour in from good-spirited individuals in support of the Management of Federal University Lokoja under the current Administration, a member representing the good people of Ijumu in the State House of Assembly, Honorable Olusola Kilani Olumo has thrown his weight behind the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, whom he described as his brother.

Honourable Kilani made this known while donating books to the University Library titled ‘Transportation and Logistics in Nigeria’ written by the former Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ogun State, Professor Kayode Oyesiku on Friday, September 10, 2021 in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Felele Campus.

He noted that the gesture was a show of his support and solidarity to his brother, the Vice-Chancellor. "The VC is my brother from the same Constituency I represent in the State House of Assembly; it behooves on me to show him the needed support. I will also identify other areas to rally around this humble Professor,” Honourable Kilani remarked.

Similarly, while speaking with the Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr. Daniel Nwankwo, Honorable Kilani stated that he is a Computer Scientist with a passion for technologically-driven transportation systems. He explained that it was this motivation that informed his decision in pursuing a Postgraduate Degree in Smart City Technology from a University in the United Kingdom which is near completion.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, who was highly elated, thanked the Honourable Member for the kind gesture expressed to him and the University. He handed over the books to the University Librarian, Dr (Mrs) Sarah Dauda Yani to be displayed conspicuously in the University Library and made accessible to students in related studies.

With the Lawmaker during the presentation was Honourable Moses Akande, Member representing Ogori-Mangongo, while the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor M. S. Audu equally joined the Vice-Chancellor in receiving the books.
