Today, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi and members of the University Management received the Contractor in charge of the construction of the main access road at the Permanent Site (Felele Campus) of Federal University Lokoja.

Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor via a whatsapp message on Monday, 22nd November, 2021 announced to Members of Management, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments/Units and Coordinators that he was happy to inform them that the construction of the main access road at the Felele Campus would commence today (23rd November, 2021), adding that the Contractor awarded the contract by the Federal Government had reported to the site.

Professor Akinwumi who was elated thanked the Minister of Works and Housing, His Excellency, Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN, and the SSA to the President on Special Duty, AIG (Rtd) Cornelius Kayode Aderanti (one of the recipients of the Honorary Doctorate Degrees - Honoris Causa at the just concluded 5th Convocation Ceremony) for their efforts in facilitating the commencement of the important project and bringing it to fruition.

Upon assumption of office, the Vice-Chancellor and his Management Team visited the Minister of Works and Housing, His Excellency, Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN to solicit his modest support and intervention towards the construction of the road, appealing that the University was ready to commence full academic activities at its Permanent Site in Felele.

The message which has been greeted with wide commendation and outpouring of encomiums on the Vice-Chancellor and his Management Team since it was announced by the Vice-Chancellor himself yesterday, is one of such news that brings overwhelming joy to members of the University Community. It has also brought to the fore that the silent, underground and painstaking efforts of the Professor Akinwumi-led Administration have begun to yield results.

"To God be the glory," the Vice-Chancellor exclaimed in the heartwarming announcement.

Congratulations!
