The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, and his Management Team paid a courtesy visit to the new Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Edward Chuka Egbuka who recently assumed duty as the 36th Commissioner of Police in the State.
Professor Akinwumi, who since assumption of office has maintained a cordial relationship with the Nigeria Police through continued engagements with the various Commissioners of Police deployed to the State, welcomed the new police chief and thanked the State Police Command for its maximum support and cooperation to the University.
The Vice-Chancellor equally solicited more support and collaboration from the Nigeria Police in providing adequate security for the University, especially at the Felele Campus.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Chuka Egbuka expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements already put in place by the University Management, while promising the commitment of the police leadership to the Institution.
The meeting afforded FUL Management and the Police Chief the opportunity to discuss various measures and strategies that will further enhance the University's security architecture.
In the company of the Vice-Chancellor for the visit were: Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor M. S. Audu; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor A. E. Bala; Registrar, Mrs. Rebecca A. Okojie; SSA to the Vice-Chancellor, Mr. E. D. Obafemi; as well as the University Public Relations Officer, Mr. Daniel Nwankwo, amongst others.
