You are doing well - FUL Council Chair Applauds VC, Inspects Ongoing Projects

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Federal University Lokoja (FUL) Governing Council, Distinguished Senator Chris Adighije, has commended the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi on the level of physical development and transformative projects ongoing in the University.
Senator Adighije disclosed this during a working visit on Wednesday, 22nd June, 2022 at the main campus of the University. He was conducted round the campus by the Vice-Chancellor along with his Management Team.
The Council Chairman, who was highly elated, expressed great satisfaction with the level of infrastructural development and transformation taking place in the University under the Professor Akinwumi-led Administration.
"I am very impressed by what is happening, Akin (as he fondly calls the Vice-Chancellor), you are doing well, I am proud of you," he exclaimed in amazement after inspecting the arrays of projects.
Some of the ongoing projects and sites visited by the Pro-Chancellor during the inspection were the water fountain in front of the University gatehouse, solar-powered tricycles and their charging station, mini stadium, block of twelve classrooms (NEEDS Assessment), entrepreneurship center, comfort garden with a water fountain to serve as a relaxation centre for students, Faculty of Science buildings being renovated, road construction, electrification, amongst others.
Similarly, on Thursday, 23rd June, 2022, the former lawmaker along with members of Management conducted the groundbreaking/foundation laying ceremony of the business designated area (commercial zone) of the University.
Senator Adighije stated that with the level of developmental projects embarked upon aggressively by the current Administration, Federal University Lokoja would be a cynosure of every eye in the not-too-distant future, while lauding the Vice-Chancellor's exemplary leadership style and effort towards building a world-class citadel of learning.
Meanwhile, we have earlier reported that the bill for the establishment of the FUL Teaching Hospital sponsored by Senator Smart Adeyemi has been passed into law by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Tuesday, 21st June, 2022, following the public hearing and consideration of the reports of Senate Committee on Health (Secondary and Tertiary) chaired by Senator Yahaya Oloriegbe. The bill sought the upgrade/conversion of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja to FUL Teaching Hospital.
