The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, FUL Governing Council, Distinguished Senator Chris Adighije Ph.D along with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi and other members of the University Management received the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nanah Opiah during a working visit to Federal University Lokoja (FUL) on Friday, 2nd September, 2022.

Following his arrival and warm reception at the main campus of the University, the Honourable Minister paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello at the Government House, Lokoja, and thereafter proceeded with an interactive session with the Management of the University.

It is interesting to note that the Minister's visit was against the backdrop of the Vice-Chancellor's stakeholders meeting held with the Minister in Abuja recently where the issue of collaboration between FUL and the College of Agriculture, Kabba, Kogi State (a division of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria) was extensively discussed.

As a result of the outcome of that meeting in Abuja where further steps to be taken to ensure a smooth and successful partnership were deliberated, and at the invitation of the Vice-Chancellor, the Honourable Minister promised to visit Federal University Lokoja to have firsthand knowledge of areas of possible intervention for the development of the University.

Consequently, the Honourable Minister made good on that promise by his visit to the eleven-year-old University. He pledged to use his good offices to attract accelerated development to the University while assuring the Governing Council and the University Management of his continued support.
