Dr. Alege joined the Federal University Lokoja in 2019 after almost a decade demonstrated history of working in Kogi State University, Anyigba. She has a strong educational and professional background with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused in Geology (Stratigraphy/Sedimentology) from Kogi State University, Anyigba, Nigeria: M.Sc. Geology with specialization in Petroleum Geology/Sedimentology from University of Ibadan and a B.Sc. Geology from Kogi State University, Anyigba. Her teaching interests include sedimentology and sedimentary processes, Sedimentary Petrology, Petroleum Geology, Stratigraphy, Micropaleontology/Palynology, Geology of Nigerian Sedimentary Basins, and Subsurface Geology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

She is skilled in Geophysical surveys, Petrel, Neural Networks, Project Management, and Field Mapping. Her current research focuses on the sedimentary processes of the Anambra and Bida Basins of Nigeria.  Other areas of focus are in petroleum geoscience, stratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy, reservoir characterization in sedimentary environments with interests in the siliciclastic rocks of the Niger Delta.  

She is a recipient of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) grant award in 2008 and the prestigious Nigerian Mining and Geosciences (NMGS)/Chevron Award 2012. She has authored and co-authored a number of scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals as well as conference papers and has to her credits presentations at both local and international conferences.

 She is a registered member of the Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscience (COMEG), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), African Association of Women in Geosciences (AAWG), European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) amidst others.  She is also dedicated to mentoring the women and girls towards achieving their goals in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
