My
name is William Ojoniko Anthony and I am currently a graduate assistant in the
Department of Chemistry, at Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State. I was born into
a family of five on the 4th of April, 1992. I went to Pilot Science primary
school; thereafter I proceeded to Community Secondary School Otukpa, Benue State
where I obtained my Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) in the year
2017. While in secondary school, my desire is to become an engineer (Chemical engineer)
just like other young students of science who intend to study medicine after
secondary school. My passion to study
chemical engineer grew stronger after I graduated from secondary school in the
year 2007.
The year 2007 to 2013 was a very challenging time for me, I sat for the joint
admission and matriculation board (JAMB) examination all these years in other
to pursue my career and passion but JAMB and my institution of interest wasn’t
fair enough to me. I was unable to secure admission in all these years but since
my path has been redesigned and redirected by God, in the year 2013, I was offered
admission into the federal university Lokoja to study chemistry. My experience was
a mix of both positive times and challenging periods but in the end, I was able
to overcome all my challenges and graduated in 2017, with first-class honors
in Chemistry.
In
2018, I went for National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) I was deployed to Rivers
State where I contributed my quota in advancing educational growth and
development in Nigeria. While at National Service I taught intensively and
organize lessons, quizzes, and debate competitions for my students in order to
broaden their horizons.
My
career vision is one day to become a Professor in Physical and Theoretical
Chemistry. This will enable me to impact more knowledge in my chosen career, my
University, and society in general.
