Olaoluwa Duro-Bello is a lecturer at the Department
of English and Literary Studies, Federal University Lokoja, Nigeria. He holds a
PhD in English from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom; MA in Applied Linguistics
from Aston University, United Kingdom, and BA in English from Bayero University Kano,
Nigeria. His research interests lie in the analysis of text, talk and social
situations that are characterized by inequality, fraud, power abuse,
disenfranchisement, (mis)representation and discrimination of social actors and
social action. He is well-versed in Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) and
the Dialectical-Relational Approach to Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). He
has applied the complementary aspects of SFL and CDA to analyze religious,
media, educational, and political discourse.
