Dr. Mrs. Agbo-Okiyi Ijeoma .M. is currently an Assistant Lecturer in the
Department of Geology, Federal University Lokoja (FUL). She was inducted into
DISS (Dority International Secondary School) Abia State, hall of fame in 2004
for having made 10As out of 11 subjects offered in the Junior Secondary School
Certificate Examination (JSSCE). She further obtained the FANSSA’s
(Faculty of Natural Science Students’ Association) Award of Best Earth Science
Student, from
the prestigious Bishop Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo in 2010 and
subsequently distinguished herself as the best
graduating student of Geology, class of 2011, with Second Class Upper Division in
the same Citadel. She bagged a Masters degree in Applied Geophysics from the
reputable Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State in 2015, and her
Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Geophysics, in 2021, from the prestigious Federal
University of Technology, Owerri, with a meritorious CGPA of 4.56.
She has paid attention over the years in the course of teaching and
research to geotechnical, mineral and water exploration works which focus on
Engineering, Environmental/Exploration Geology cum Geophysics. She has
published in National referred and in distinguished International Journals.
Outside the academia, she has had a good wealth of experience in an Indigenous
Oil Company and Well Completions Firm (TechDAER, Portharcourt) as a Basic
Field Engineer, trained in Well
Stimulation and Acidizing, Basic Workover/Completion
& Thru Tubing Tools, Basic Completion/Workover Fluids Testing and Sand
Control and is certified accordingly in them. Some of her geophysical
participations include: Core drilling for Coal deposit in Owukpan, Benue State,
Geophysical explorations (IP method) for: Gold deposits in Zazaga LGA, Niger
State, Lead-Zinc in Ishiagu-Anyigba, Ebonyi State, Gypsum, Gbokoto, Ogun State
e.t.c. She is a member of Nigerian Mining and Geoscience Society (NMGS) and is
currently a level adviser in the Department of Geology, Federal University
Lokoja (FUL).
She is calm, approachable, a happily married field-oriented jolie good
fellow and as such, is disposed to genuine mentorship of Scholarly protégées in
a gender unbiased academic environment.
