Taofiq was born in Jebba, Kwara State. He had both his primary and secondary education at Adeta LSMB Primary School and Goverment High School, Adewole respectively. He graduated from the Department of Physics, University of Ilorin in 1998, and started his academic career as a Graduate Assistant in 2001.
Taofiq finished his Master of Science in Physics from the University of Ilorin with distinction and had his Doctorate in Theoretical Nuclear Physics from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 2009. Taofiq rose through the ranks to Lecturer I before joining the service of the Federal University Lokoja as a Senior Lecturer in 2015. He is currently an Associate Professor of Physics with interest in Nuclear structure, Nuclear decay and reaction Physics, Mathematical Physics and the Physics of Low dimensional systems. He is happily married with Children.
