Lucky Onovwakponoko Ovwasa

Professor
Onovwakponoko Lucky Ovwasa started his undergraduate Degree programme at the
University of Ibadan in 1979. He graduated with B.Sc. (Hons) degree (second
class upper division) in 1982.
He did his
National Youth Service Corps between 1982 and 1983 in the then Department of
Government and Public Administration, University of Ilorin. At the completion
of his service year on July 5 1983, he was appointed Graduate Assistant in the
same Department on July 6, 1983.
Ovwasa
obtained his Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Ibadan
in 1987. He rose to become Senior lecturer and Acting Head, Department of
Political Science University of Ilorin between 2000 and 2002. He obtained his
Doctorate Degree from University of Ilorin in 2004. Dr. Ovwasa withdrew his
service from University of Ilorin in 2011 after 28 years of service.
He joined
Kogi state University Anyigba as Associate Professor and Acting Head,
Department of Political Science on 15th June, 2011. He was later
appointed into the Department of Political Science Federal University Lokoja as
Associate Professor and pioneer Acting Head of the Department. He was promoted
to the rank of Professor on October 1, 2014 by the authority of the Federal
University Lokoja. He is currently, the Dean, Social Sciences Federal University Lokoja.
His
articles have appeared in several reputable National and International Journals.
Professor Ovwasa has delivered several keynotes address and guest speaker in
many fora across the country.
