I am Mr. Robert Lamja, Bassa-Nge by tribe born at Effin in 1966 to the family of Late Mr. David and Late Mrs. Mabel Lamja in Basa Local Government area of Kogi State, married with three (3) children. I started primary school from 1972 – 1977 at St. Stephen Anglican Church Effin, Bassa-Nge LGA area in Kogi State. Thereafter I proceeded to Bassa-Nge Anglican Grammar School Gboloko in the 1979 – 1984 (WAEC) and GCE 1990. And I also went ahead to study Introductory to Science Laboratory Technology course and finished in the year 1991 at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria while still ahead to study Diploma in computer training and finished in the year 2004 at Praise Foundation Institute, Samaru Zaria. While Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology at the NISLT Ibadan in the year 2009. And Higher National Diploma (HND) in Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) at the Kwara State Polytechnic in the year 2014. I am a membership of NISLT professional body.
I started my working career in the department of Geology, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in the year 1986 as head messenger, and in the year 1987, I was re-designated to laboratory as laboratory assistant to Late Mr. Yahaya Abu. Since then, I started to further my academic career through in house training to part-time studies. As dedicated to my work and working experience, I moved by promotion to the rank of technologist II in the year 2010 1st October.
In the year 2013 March, I transferred my service to Federal University Lokoja, where I was offered appointment as Technologist 1. And in June, 2015, I was made the Head of Geology Laboratories after the death of my superior officer late. Mr. Samuel Edegbo. While I am doing my work, in the year 2016 February 6th, the servicom under the authority of the university management offered me an award of distinction for dedication to duty and outstanding performance.
I specialized in Geology thin section preparatory techniques and petrographic microscope techniques. And I take the students in terms of practical in the above area of specialization.
