Benjamin Mapah Dauda

Professor
Prof B M Dauda was born on the 17th of January 1965 in Lokoja, Kogi State. He started his primary school education in Lokoja but in 1972, he moved with his parents to Ilorin, Kwara state where he completed his primary school education. In 1978 he proceeded to Federal Government College Sokoto, where he obtained his O/Level certificate in July 1983. In August of the same year, he proceeded to School of Basic Studies, A.B.U. Zaria for his A/Level studies.
Prof BM Dauda obtained his B.Sc. from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in the year 1988 after which he proceeded for his NYSC national service in Plateau State. During the national service, he did his primary assignment at the Department of Chemistry, Federal College of Education, Akwanga. In September 1989 Dauda started work as the Quality Control Technologist in Nigerian Spinners and Dyers Ltd., Kano. In 1991 he was appointed as a Graduate Assistant in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Prof Dauda obtained M.Sc. from University of Leeds in 1995 and Ph.D. from the University of Manchester in 2008.
On completion of his PhD, the University of Manchester appointed him as a Research Assistant from 2008 to 2009. He then returned to A.B.U. Zaria to continue his teaching and research work. He left A.B.U Zaria as a professor in November 2019 to join the department of Industrial chemistry, Federal University Lokoja.
Prof. Dauda is a specialist in Polymer Science and Engineering. His research interest is the area polymer synthesis and industrial waste water management. Dauda has presented seminars in the UK, USA, Israel, France and across Nigeria. He has several peer reviewed publications both nationally and internationally.
