Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen.

I stand before you today on this auspicious occasion of the matriculation ceremony, a significant milestone in your academic journey as fresh students of Federal University Lokoja. With great joy and pride, I extend my warmest welcome to each and every one of you. Today marks the beginning of a transformative chapter in your lives, and I assure you that the Federal University Lokoja community is here to support and guide you every step of the way.

The record before me shows that a total number of 4,347 students are matriculating for the 2022/2023 academic session across six (6) faculties including College of Health Sciences.

Matriculation, my dear students, holds a profound purpose. It is a symbolic event that formally marks your induction into the University family. It signifies your commitment to academic excellence, personal growth, and the pursuit of knowledge. As you take the matriculation oath today, you are embracing the values and ethos of Federal University Lokoja, and I encourage you to cherish this moment as a turning point in your lives.

At Federal University Lokoja, our mission is to provide quality education, foster critical thinking, and produce well-rounded graduates who are equipped with the skills and knowledge to contribute meaningfully to society. Our vision is to be the best among the nine newly established federal universities in Nigeria in 2011 and one of the top ten universities in Africa. As you embark on this exciting journey, I urge you to take your lectures seriously. Attend classes regularly, actively engage with your lecturers, and seek clarification whenever necessary. Your lectures are the foundation upon which your academic success is built. They provide you with the necessary knowledge, insights, and skills to navigate the challenges of your chosen field. Furthermore, I implore you to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the University.
