A historic moment unfolded at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) as the College of Postgraduate Studies, under the leadership of the Provost, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, successfully organized the inaugural external assessment for postgraduate students who have completed their research and met the University's degree requirements.

The first group of Master's students, hailing from the Department of Political Science, participated in this highly anticipated external examination. The examination was overseen by Professor Eugene T. Aliegba, a distinguished faculty member from the Department of Political Science at Nasarawa State University, Keffi. The first set of students who took part in this milestone exercise include Yusuf Daud, Mohammed S. Yusuf, Hawawu Muhammed, Usman N. Ndalada, and Zubairu A. Mua'azu.

Since the College began the inaugural external defense sessions recently, which initially featured two sets of students from the Department of Political Science, the Department of Computer Science has also presented its Master's students for this important exercise. Several other Departments are slated to follow suit in the upcoming days.

The examination series is anticipated to continue throughout the next week. More Master's and PhD students will have the opportunity to present their theses before various external examiners—a pivotal step toward obtaining postgraduate degrees from FUL. These degrees are scheduled to be conferred during the forthcoming Convocation Ceremony set for October later this year.

Accept the hearty felicitations of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi and that of the entire University Management on this remarkable achievement!
