The University Management ably led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi is indeed grateful for your unwavering support and tremendous contributions to the development of our dear University (FUL).

 

As a distinguished member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Faleke adequately represented not only his constituency but also the generality of the Nigerian people. For example, he was one of those who moved for an increase in the Federal Allocation to States and Local Government. He has presented many motions and bills among which were the NYSC Act Amendment Bill to provide life insurance for corps members, and the Establishment Bills of the Nine Federal Universities set up by the President Jonathan Administration. Several motions such as the improvement of security by ensuring the the monitoring of the over 1400 illegal border routes within the country, motion on the ban on sales of alcohol at motor parks and motion on the ban of sales of army uniforms in the open market, among many others.

 

Hon. James Faleke has also made his mark in community and humanitarian services, some of which include rehabilitation/reconstruction of some connecting roads in his constituency, facilitating the installation of over 8,000 solar-powered street lights to over 500 streets across the Constituency, rehabilitation of classrooms in 13 different public schools, provision of computer laptops, school bags and shoes to students of public schools across his constituency, provision of computer laptops to some heads of public schools in his constituency, equipping of public schools ICT centres. He also distributed 400 mini-buses and 103 Tricycles to unemployed Youths of his constituency. This is in addition to facilitating employment for over 120 unemployed youths in various federal agencies, institutions, and parastatals.

 

Under Hon. James Faleke capacity building project, 39 different training empowerment programmes, with cash grants, were facilitated for constituents. One of such training programmes was the 1,167 constituents trained in various skills, with cash grants between 24th to 28th October, 2021. There are many other of such projects which space and time may not allow us to mention.

 

In recognition of James Abiodun Faleke’s educational achievements, philanthropic gestures and result-oriented services to humanity within and outside his political constituency, he has received several worthy awards from corporate bodies, NGOs, various community associations, the media, groups, and many more.
