Security: Kogi Commissioner of Police, CP Bertrand Onuoha Pays Working Visit to FUL

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Bertrand Onuoha has paid a working visit to Federal University Lokoja (FUL) in a bid to familiarize with the campus environment and collaborate with the University Management in ensuring a peaceful learning environment. CP Onuoha was received by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi along with other Principal Officers in his office at the main campus, Felele.

Addressing members of Management, the Commissioner commended the efforts of the Vice-Chancellor and his team in fostering a peaceful learning environment in the University. He attributed the peaceful and harmonious academic environment to the pragmatic approach and excellent leadership qualities of the Vice-Chancellor as well as the strong synergy between the University Management and security agencies in the State.

The CP further expressed his commitment to strengthening the existing relationship between the Police and the University, assuring Management of prompt security response and unwavering support in any area where the University requires assistance.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, thanked the CP for the visit and his kind words, affirming his unflinching commitment to sustaining the close ties between the University and law enforcement agencies that would guarantee adequate security for the University. He also expressed appreciation for the bolstering police presence on the campus, appealing for more security presence and support to ensure enhanced policing of the two campuses given the fast-growing student population.
