The National Universities Commission has granted Full Accreditation to the Nursing Science programme of the Federal University Lokoja.

The approval is contained in a letter dated July 13, 2026 and signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, following the October and November 2025 accreditation exercise conducted across Nigerian universities.

The Commission stated that the Nursing Science programme earned Full Accreditation, a status that remains valid for five years.

Reacting to the development, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, described the accreditation as a major milestone in the University's drive for academic excellence and quality assurance.

Professor Ibileye congratulated the management, staff and students of the College of Health Sciences, especially the Department of Nursing Science, for their commitment and hard work which culminated in the achievement.

He said the outcome reflects the University's determination to sustain high academic standards while assuring parents, students and other stakeholders that the institution will continue to provide quality education and produce competent healthcare professionals for national development.
