The Registrar of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Mrs Yakubu Glory Ojochogu, has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor and Management of Federal University Lokoja.

Mrs Ojochogu was received by Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, Vice-Chancellor, alongside the Registrar, Dr. Rebecca A. Okojie, and the Senior Deputy Registrar, Mr. Nuhu Shamaki Kaje.

During the visit, Mrs. Ojochogu conveyed the goodwill and congratulatory message of the Vice-Chancellor of CUSTECH, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu. She commended the transformative and visionary leadership of Professor Ibileye while congratulating him on his recent 60th birthday celebration and the launch of a book in his honour.

The CUSTECH Registrar praised the quality of administration and professionalism evident across the Federal University Lokoja campus. She expressed her desire to understudy and adopt some of the institution’s best practices as CUSTECH continues to grow and strengthen its service delivery as a relatively young university.

Responding, Professor Ibileye, who warmly welcomed the Registrar, appreciated the management of CUSTECH under the leadership of Professor Amupitan and acknowledged the contributions of its distinguished scholars and administrators to higher education development.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged her to freely engage with various units and departments of the university in order to gain firsthand insights into its operational processes and administrative culture.

He further advised her to uphold due process, manage the system strictly in accordance with established regulations, and ensure that the provisions of the university’s Establishment Act and other statutory requirements are diligently observed.

Professor Ibileye emphasised the need to shun ethnicity, tribalism, and religious bias in institutional administration, urging the Registrar to respect governing authorities, work harmoniously with colleagues, and promote a culture of fairness and inclusiveness. According to him, these qualities remain the hallmarks of effective university administration and are values deeply cherished within the management culture of Federal University Lokoja.

As a mark of goodwill and partnership, the Vice-Chancellor presented his signature gift to the leadership of CUSTECH, reaffirming the commitment of both institutions to sustained collaboration. He noted that through mutual support and shared best practices, Nigerian universities can collectively build systems that exemplify excellence, innovation, and service. See more pictures here
