A CIRCULAR FROM THE REGISTRAR DATED FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2024

This is to inform all granduands for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 Academic Sessions of the University that the 8th Convocation Ceremony of the University for the Award of Honorary, First and Higher Degrees, Diplomas and presentation of prizes will hold from Monday,  21st to  Sunday, 27th October, 2024.

Details of the activities are as follows:

Day 1
Date: Monday, October 21, 2024.
a. Event: Press Conference by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi
Venue: The University Council Chamber, Felele.
Time: 10:00 a.m. prompt.

b. Event: Colloquium in honour of Professor Olu Obafemi
Venue: Multipurpose Hall, Felele.
Time: 12:00 p.m. prompt.

Day 2
Date: Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
Event: Founder’s Day
Venue:  10.00 a.m. prompt.

Day 3
Date: Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Event:  Convocation Ceremony of the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 4-Year Programme Award of First Degrees for Faculties of Arts, Education, Management Sciences, Science and Social Sciences. Endowment, Award of Honorary Doctorate Degrees, Higher Degrees and Prizes.
Venue: Convocation Arena, Permanent Site, Felele

Day 7
Date: Sunday, October 27, 2024
Event: Inter-denominational Thanksgiving  Service
Venue: College of Health Sciences’ Auditorium, Adankolo

BRIEF FOR GRADUANDS

Granduands  are kindly requested to note the following information:

All convoking granduands of the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 are advised to check their names and graduation status on the list of graduands displayed on the University website fulokoja.edu.ng.

All graduands are to pay the following mandatory Convocation fees, whether or not they attend the convocation ceremony:

(a) Undergraduate              N18,000.00
Alumni                                 N2,000.00
Total                                    N20,000

(b) Postgraduate                 N25,000.00
Alumni                                 N5,000.00
Total                                    N30,000.00 

Ph.D. graduands to take note:
Purchase of Ph.D Academic gown to be collected at the College of Postgraduate Studies (Mandatory for Ph.D. graduands at prevailing cost of N120,000.00 (One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira) payable to the below account details:

Collection and Return of Academic Gowns (Undergraduate, PGD and Masters)
Convocation gowns will be available for collection on Monday, October 21, 2024, in the respective Faculties, on presentation of evidence of payment of appropriate charges. Certificates shall be distributed on the Convocation day at the various Faculties and the Postgraduate School based on the return of Academic Gowns.

In the event of loss of academic gown, a fee of N35,000.00 (Thirty-Five Thousand Naira)  and N45,000 (Forty-Five Thousand Naira) for first-degree graduates and Postgraduates (Masters and PGD) respectively, being the cost of replacement, shall be paid before the release of certificate.

All hired gowns should be returned by the graduands to their respective Faculty Officers no later than Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Failure to return the hired gowns on that date will attract a fine of N500.00 per day.

Rehearsals
Graduands are expected to attend a rehearsal of the Academic Procession, which will be held at 3.00pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Convocation Arena, Mini Stadium Felele, after the International Conference.

It is compulsory for all graduands who will attend the Convocation Ceremony to participate in the Academic Procession and wear the approved academic outfit. All graduands are expected to be formally dressed in complete decent English wear (i.e. suit, shirt, and tie for men, and skirt and blouse or gown for ladies or full traditional attire).

Payments
Payment for Convocation materials as mentioned above has commenced on Monday, September 30, 2024. Graduands are to log in to their portal on www.fulokoja.edu.ng for payment of the Convocation fee.
