The Makoju Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Federal University Lokoja through scholarship support and the University's endowment initiative.

Speaking during a visit to the University, the matriarch of the Makoju family, Lady Gladys Makoju, said the Foundation's interest in supporting education, particularly in engineering and science, informed its decision to collaborate with the institution.

She noted that the visit was aimed at discussing the University's endowment proposal and working out the details of the scholarship programme being offered by the Foundation, with a view to deepening collaboration for mutual benefit.

In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, described the gesture as a demonstration of genuine commitment to education and sustainable impact.

He thanked the Makoju family for choosing the Federal University Lokoja as a beneficiary of its educational intervention and for preserving the legacy of the late Engineer Joseph Makoju through investments that will benefit future generations.

Professor Ibileye also wished the late engineering icon a posthumous happy birthday, describing his memory as worthy of celebration and his legacy as an inspiration to generations of scholars and professionals.

"On behalf of the Governing Council, Senate and Management of the Federal University Lokoja, we sincerely appreciate this generous gesture. We will treasure it for a very long time," he said.

Meanwhile, Lady Gladys Makoju holds an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree of the Federal University Lokoja.

The visit further reinforced the growing relationship between the University and the Makoju Foundation in advancing educational development and academic excellence.
