The Federal University Lokoja was on Tuesday, 20th June, 2017, graced with presence of dignitaries from the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Kogi State branch for a symbolic gesture of religious harmony and tolerance, where Muslims and Christians converged for interfaith lectures and breaking of Ramadan Fast.
The occasion saw students and lecturers from both religions converging at the University Central Mosque to listen to the lectures delivered by Clerics from both faiths. The various lectures and speeches delivered centered on shared values between Islam and Christianity.
The Vice-Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Angela Freeman Miri, who led the delegation from the Institution to the gathering, expressed her joy, describing the event as a welcomed development that would engender religious harmony, unity, love, tolerance and peaceful co-existence among followers of the two religions in the University.
