PRESS RELEASE:
The Federal University Lokoja has taken a significant step toward improving the welfare and mobility of its staff and students, as two 32-seater buses were officially delivered to the Adankolo Campus today, Saturday, April 4, 2026.
This milestone achievement fulfills a key commitment made by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, during his first congregation meeting as the 4th Vice-Chancellor of the University. At that historic gathering, Professor Ibileye assured the University community of his administration’s resolve to address pressing transportation challenges, announcing that two buses would be provided in the first instance.
True to his word, the arrival of the buses marks not only the fulfillment of that promise but also a demonstration of purposeful leadership and a deep commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and campus life.
The provision of these buses is expected to significantly ease the movement of students and staff between campuses, improve punctuality, and contribute to a more conducive academic environment. It also reflects the administration’s broader vision of infrastructural development and service delivery anchored on responsiveness to the needs of the University community.
The University management expresses profound gratitude to God for making this achievement possible and appreciates the support and cooperation of all stakeholders who contributed to its realization.
Professor Ibileye reiterates his administration’s commitment to sustaining this momentum by implementing policies and initiatives that will further advance the growth and development of the Federal University Lokoja.
