Road Safety Advocacy: FUL Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibileye, Honoured with Kogi State's Most Proactive Advocacy Award

Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), has been honoured with the Most Proactive Advocacy for Road Safety in Kogi State Award in recognition of his unwavering commitment to promoting road safety awareness and championing initiatives that foster a safer motoring environment.
The prestigious award was presented during the Strategic Stakeholders' Conference and Investiture of the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, as the Chief Servant. The event also celebrated the Governor's deliberate and visionary commitment to improving road infrastructure and enhancing the welfare and safety of the people of Kogi State.
Presenting the citation, the Honourable Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Road Safety Matters, Dr. Suberu Yusuf, commended Professor Ibileye's outstanding advocacy and sustained support for road safety initiatives across the state. The award was formally presented by the Honourable Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Victor Atuluku Levi, while the Governor was represented at the ceremony by the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Sunday Faleke.
The high-profile event attracted an array of distinguished personalities, including the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, senior officials of the Corps, members of the state's security architecture, government functionaries, traditional leaders, and key stakeholders committed to advancing road safety in Nigeria.
Receiving the award, Professor Ibileye expressed profound appreciation to the Kogi State Government for the honour and commended the Office of the Senior Special Adviser on Road Safety Matters for its unwavering dedication to creating safer roads. He described the recognition as both a privilege and a renewed call to action.
The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies, campaigns, and strategic partnerships that promote responsible road use, enhance public safety, and contribute to reducing road traffic crashes in Kogi State and across Nigeria.
The award further underscores Professor Ibileye's growing reputation as a transformational leader whose influence extends beyond academia into impactful public service and community development, reflecting the Federal University Lokoja's enduring commitment to national development through advocacy, strategic engagement, and social responsibility.
