As part of its strategic alliance with higher institutions, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Kogi State Branch, ably led by its Chairman, Dr. Aminu Isa, ACIPM, paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Dr. Rebecca Aimiohu Okojie, ACIPM, on Monday, 8th July, 2024. 

During the visit, the Chairman commended the Registrar for her warm reception and positive disposition to CIPM affairs at all times. He particularly thanked the Registrar for allowing the Institute to use the University Auditorium, Adankolo to host the Branch Workshop that held sometime in 2023.

He further explained that the motive behind their was to brief her and mobilize the University community for participation in the Special Human Resource Forum (SHRF) held virtually on 11th July, the 2024 Branch Workshop, the Branch Public Lecture, and the International Conference & Exibition (ICE), scheduled to hold on July 13, August 1 , September 4, and October respectively. 

The Chairman, who was accompanied by the Secretary, Treasurer, and an Ex-officio of the Branch, urged the University to establish Department of Human Resource and Industrial Relations under the Faculty of Management Sciences as a training ground for HR professionals. 

In her response, the Registrar commended the Branch Executive for reaching out to her and assured her participation in the events. She equally expressed her willingness to serve as Guest Speaker in the Public Lecture scheduled to hold at the Federal University Lokoja on September 4, 2024.  

She explained that the University was working in line with the Federal Government's move to professionalised HR practice in the public service. The Branch was requested to come up with a proposal for all the request made.
