FUL VC Lauds Senator Natasha's People-oriented Programmes as Lawmaker Pledges Support for Kogi Varsity

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, has praised the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, for her exceptional leadership and people-oriented projects executed within a short period of her quality representation at the Red Chamber.

Professor Akinwumi gave the commendation when he visited the Kogi lawmaker at the National Assembly, Abuja on Tuesday. During the interaction, the Vice-Chancellor said he was highly impressed with Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan's admirable leadership qualities and unwavering commitment to the well-being and development of Kogi Central and the State.

He applauded the Senator for being visionary and pragmatic in her approach to delivering quality leadership and democratic dividends to her people as a well-respected legislator. Acknowledging her brainchild initiative - Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (NAU) Tertiary Educational Fund, Professor Akinwumi thanked the lawmaker for the monthly intervention which has brought succour to a large number of students of the University from her Senatorial District who have benefited so far from the laudable initiative since it was introduced in February this year.

The Vice-Chancellor, who described her as a great woman of valour, epitome of beauty, doggedness, and intelligence, expressed confidence in her capacity to drive positive reforms and changes that would attract remarkable development to the area, adding that she is indeed a blessing to the good people of Kogi Central who are very proud of her endearing contributions to nation-building.

Professor Akinwumi solicited her support, as a distinguished lawmaker from the Confluence State, in moving the University to a greater height, highlighting his administration's efforts, since he came on board, in transforming the thirteen-year-old University into a 21st-century citadel of learning that is globally recognized.

Responding, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan thanked the VC for the visit and words of encouragement, while also commending his transformational leadership and achievements. The lawmaker pledged to give FUL all the needed support it needs to develop to its full potential, assuring the Vice-Chancellor of using her good offices as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to attract meaningful projects to the Institution, which would also have direct positive impact on staff and students from Kogi Central who are working and schooling at the prestigious University. 

She further requested the Vice-Chancellor to come up with a list of demands and needs of the University, promising to make her footprints visible in FUL.
