The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Angela Freeman Miri played host to the New ASUU Executive on 20th February, 2019. The purpose of the visit as revealed by the branch Chairman of the Union, Dr. Joseph O. Folorunsho, was to introduce the new Executive to the Vice-Chancellor and Management. The Executive pledged to cooperate and support Management to achieve its vision.
In her response, the Vice-Chancellor said she lifted the ban on union activities immediately she assumed office because of the value she place on staff welfare, hence acknowledge and appreciate the role of ASUU in the welfare of its members. Also, she promised to continue to support ASUU and enjoined them to interact more with Management to ensure free flow of accurate information between Management and ASUU to forestall industrial disharmony.
