COVID-19: FUL MANAGEMENT DIRECTS CLOSURE OF THE UNIVERSITY TO STAFF ON CONTISS 11 AND BELOW

As part of measures to curb the spread of the Coronavirus codenamed COVID-19, the Management of Federal University Lokoja has directed that its staff on CONTISS 11 and below should stay and work from home with effect from Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
The directive which was communicated via a circular released on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 and signed by the Deputy Registrar, Human Resources Division, Mr Benjamin John Mshelbwala on behalf of the Registrar reads: “Following the Federal Government directive that in order to further curb the spread of Corona Virus (Covid – 19), “all public servants on non-essential duties, on Grade 12 and below should stay and work from home”. The Vice-Chancellor on behalf of Management directed that all staff on CONTISS 11 and below are therefore advised to stay and work from home with effect from Wednesday, March 25, 2020 but to make themselves available when their attention is needed.”
However, the statement said that: “All other staff on CONTISS 12 and above and staff rendering essential services (Security, Medical Health and few Environmental) are to continue with their normal work but to limit the number of visitors they receive to the barest minimum in order to reduce physical contact as much as possible.”
