The Regina Caeli Catholic Chaplaincy, Federal University Lokoja on Sunday, 7th February, 2021 organized Mass/Thanksgiving Service in honour of the Outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Angela Freeman Miri.

Professor Miri, who was showered with encomiums and presents from the parishioners, could only manage to hold back her tears. Similarly, the Chaplain of the Regina Caeli Chaplaincy, Rev. Fr. Paul Tubi and his Muslim counterpart and Chief Imam of the University Central Mosque, Imam Khalid, jointly presented gifts to the Outgoing Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the Christian and Muslim Communities in the University.

Rev. Fr. Paul Tubi thanked God for the Vice-Chancellor for her patience, commitment and determination in taking the University to greater heights even in the midst of daunting challenges. He added that Professor Miri who faced many oppositions and challenges was able to weather the storm through the help of God and with her tenacity and enduring spirit.

Dr. Tubi equally commended the Vice-Chancellor for the remarkable achievements (both perceptible and imperceptible) the University recorded under her stewardship, most especially the ongoing massive development of the University Permanent Site (Felele Campus).

The Chaplain described the Vice-Chancellor as a woman of great faith and humility who never seek for any special seat or recognition in the Chaplaincy. He specially thanked Professor Miri for her life of dedication and generosity to the Chaplaincy, as well as her contributions to the development of Federal University Lokoja.

In her remarks, Professor Angela Freeman Miri, who was overwhelmed with joy, recounted how the Reverend Father along with some Members of the University Community received and prayed for her upon her arrival in the University on 25th February, 2016. She stated that that warm reception and prayers actually prepared her for the task ahead. Professor Miri expressed deep appreciation to Rev. Fr. Paul Tubi and the entire Chaplaincy for standing by her all through her tenure as the Second Vice-Chancellor of the University.
