The Vice-Chancellor, Federal
University Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwumi on Wednesday, 21st
April, 2021 received a well detailed and comprehensive report on the University’s
movement to the Felele Campus. The Committee, chaired by Professor Gbenga
Ibileye, comprised very eminent Academic and Non-Teaching Staff of the University
who have worked assiduously to deliver on their mandate within the stipulated
time frame.
Reacting to the promptness in submitting
the report, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi expressed
satisfaction and thanked the Committee for a job well done. He stated that out of
the Six (6) Critical Committees constituted and inaugurated on Monday, March 8,
2021 with diverse assignments, only the Committee on Review of the University's
Movement to Felele Campus (Permanent Site) has delivered in spite the enormousness
of the assignment, which they had carried out diligently and dispassionately at
the required time frame.
Also, the Vice-Chancellor
reiterated that the movement to the Permanent Site (Felele Campus) was sacrosanct,
as all Non-Teaching Staff must prepare to relocate immediately after the Muslim
Salah Break.
In appreciation, Professor
Akinwumi promised a financial compensation to cover the expenses the Committee incurred
in the course of carrying out the assignment. However, the Chairman of the Committee,
Professor Gbenga Ibileye declined the offer but sincerely thanked the
Vice-Chancellor for the opportunity given to them to serve, adding that it was
part of their contributions and support to the University and the administration.
In his remarks, the Deputy
Vice-Chancellor, Professor M. S. Audu also expressed appreciation to the
Committee for the job well done.
