FUL VC, Prof. Akinwumi Hosts Course 5 Students from Centre for Security and Strategic/Peace and Conflict Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi

Today, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor M. S. Audu received Course 5 Students from the Centre for Security and Strategic/Peace and Conflict Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), who were in Kogi State on a Study Tour.
 
The 5th set of students from the Centre, led by Professor Andrew Zamani, Director Institute of Governance and Development Studies, were warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor in his office at the Felele Campus amidst cheers and jubilation, as they came en masse to honour one of their own, the Vice-Chancellor, who pioneered the programme back then at NSUK, the programme which has gained national and international outlook.
 
Also, the group expressed confidence in Professor Akinwumi’s ability and track records that earned him his current appointment as the 3rd Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, while wishing him success and God’s guidance as he pilots the affairs of the University to greater heights.
 
Following the courtesy visit, the group was led by the Vice-Chancellor to the Students’ Multipurpose Hall at the Felele Campus where they received lectures from top Security Agencies in the State and had fruitful interactions.
 
 
 
Again, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi and his Management Team hosted Course 5 Students of the Centre for Security and Strategic/Peace and Conflict Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) at an evening session where the Department of Theatre Arts, Federal University Lokoja (FUL) entertained the guests with a comic performance (drama) titled “Kpenkelemes” as directed by Mr. Ikpelemoh Emmanuel to the admiration of everyone.
 
The event which took place at the University Auditorium, Adankolo Campus was attended by Principal Officers and Members of Management of the University including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor M. S. Audu; Registrar, Mr. Usman Suleman Obansa; Bursar, Mr. Sule John Shilo; University Librarian, Dr. (Mrs) Sarah Dauda Yani; and the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Gbenga Ibileye, who delivered a thought-provoking speech on collaboration between Federal University Lokoja and Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
 
In their separate remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala and the Director, Institute of Governance and Development Studies, NSUK, Professor Andrew Zamani, played glowing tributes to Professor Olayemi Akinwumi for initiating and nurturing the programme back then at NSUK before moving to FUL to take up appointment as the 3rd Vice-Chancellor of the young University.
 
Similarly, other speakers from the Centre who gave goodwill messages, commended FUL Vice-Chancellor for his selfless and pioneering roles in the programme that has gained wide national and international outlook, expressing confidence in his leadership qualities that can also transform FUL into a 21st Century University, if given the needed support and maximum cooperation.
 
Following the extraordinary and brilliant performance by the Theatre Arts Department led by Mr. Tosin Olagunju (Sargeant Bameyi) as the main cast in the play, the troupe received various cash donations and goodwill from the highly fascinated guests during a light refreshment session held at the Council Chamber, Adankolo Campus.
