The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has entered into a partnership with the Rural Women Empowerment and Youth Development Foundation (RWEYDF), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in the area of ICT development and training.
The unveiling of the Center named “FUL-RWEYDF Centre for ICT Development and Training” took place on Wednesday, 15th December, 2021 at Alama House, Hassan Katsina Way, Lokoja, Kogi State following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both parties.
In his remarks, while unveiling the Centre on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor M. S. Audu stated that the partnership was significant in the annals of the history of Federal University Lokoja being the first of its kind. He congratulated the two partners and prayed for the success of the Centre, assuring that the collaboration would uplift the youths of the State in particular and Nigerians in general.
Recall that the pact was earlier signed in the Vice-Chancellor’s Board Room at the Felele Campus on 15th October, 2021 between the University Management led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, and the RWEYDF Board of Trustees headed by Hajia Ladi Ibrahim.
According to the agreement, the Centre will train students in ICT development and broaden their knowledge and experience in such a way as to qualify them to receive the diploma/certificates of the University while equally facilitating the exchange of knowledge between staff of the University and students of the Centre. The training is to be received by the students on a full and part-time basis for both normal and executive programs.
During the inaugural meeting, which was held today (just exactly two months after the signing of the collaboration agreements) at the Board Room of Alama House and presided over by the Board Chairman and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor M. S. Audu, approvals were given for the release of adverts and commencement of the academic programs (Diploma and Certificate) effective January, 2022, amongst other issues discussed.
Other members of the Board include Prof. Sunday E. Adewumi, FUL Director, Centre for ICT; Prof. David Irefin, FUL Director, Consultancy and Ventures; Prof. Francisca Oladipo, FUL Director, Quality Assurance; Hajia Ladi Ibrahim, RWEYDF Chief Executive Officer; Haroun Opotu Yussuff, RWEYDF BoT Member; and Mr. Onuche E. Samson, Deputy Director for the Centre.

CERTIFICATE - 12 Weekends (3 Months):

DIPLOMA - 4 Semesters:
- Web Development
- Programming Language and Software Development
- Office Productivity
- Computer Science
Entry Requirements:
- Three (3) O’level credits for Certificate Program
- Five (5) O’level credits for Diploma Program (However, consideration may be given otherwise.)

Applicants are to visit the Application Portal https://fulokoja.edu.ng/rweydf and complete the Application Form or Visit Alama House, along Hassan Katsina way, beside Federal High Court, Lokoja for possible assistance.
NB: Any student who successfully graduates with a minimum of Lower Credit at the end of the Diploma program and wishes to further his/her education at the undergraduate level of the University may be admitted through Direct Entry into 200 Level.
