The Vice-Chancellor, of Federal University Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwmi with the Chairman Board of Governance and Management of the FULokoja International Collage have inaugurated the interim executives of the Parent-Teachers Association, PTA charged with the responsibility to ensure quality educational management of the Federal University Lokoja International College within an initial period of  9months.

Speaking at the Inaugural PTA meeting of the college, the Vice-Chancellor who has shown unflinching support for the college enjoined the association to champion the cause of managing the college by giving their unalloyed support to University Management and working in synergy with the pro tem executive to provide the basic checks and balances needed for excellent service delivery in the college. 

The Chairman of the Board of Governance, Professor M.S Audu took time to explain the implication of the appointment of the interim leadership, reminding them that the future of the college was for them and their wards to enjoy and they were therefore encouraged to show support with great innovative ideas that will concretize the vision of management for establishing the college.

Earlier, Professor M.S had advised parents to choose or volunteer to serve in the interim administration of the Parent Teachers Association as proof of their readiness to nurture the seed of greatness planted by  Professor Akinwumi for a better future for the students. Professor M.S told the audience that the onus was on them to ensure that the seed was watered and pruned for a great yield and a mind-blowing harvest of greatness in the future. "The college must reflect the mind of the founding fathers and fulfil the aspiration of the board and serve the interest of management" he added.

While giving his acceptance Speech,  the Interim Chairman of the Parent Teachers Association, Mr Okeme Nda Sule, the immediate past Director of Sports, Federal University Lokoja extolled the Vice-Chancellor's dynamic leadership and courage to champion the initiative of establishing the international college. He noted that this singular fit has addressed one of the greatest needs and desires of the staff of the university and the host community.

He told the large gathering of parents and teachers at the meeting that the establishment of the College was indeed a fulfilment of a vision that has been impossible in the university before the current administration came on board. He thanked the professor Akinwumi-led administration for showing great resilience regardless of the numerous daunting challenges confronting the institution at the moment. He appreciated the dogged pursuit of holistic development of Federal University Lokoja and indeed humanity as championed by the VC, Professor Akinwumi and his ever-supportive management.

He thanked the management of the college for the opportunity given to him and his executive members to pioneer the administration of the PTA  for at least one academic session and called on parents to be innovative, and share important ideas that will engender quality and exemplary leadership until FULokoja International College becomes a household name in Kogi, Nigeria and beyond. 

Many other very fruitful deliberations took place at the meeting as parents were seen happily taking their children home at the end of the maiden PTA meeting.
