In a bid to ensure that the Federal University Lokoja Alumni Association (FULAA) is vibrant and well-positioned to carry out its key mandate, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi has approved the appointment of one of FUL's former students, Mr. Mohammed Sanni Yusuf as the Alumni Officer of the University, a post newly created under the Vice-Chancellor's Office.

Interestingly, Comrade Yusuf is the pioneer President of FULAA following his emergence at a keenly contested election organized by the Alumni Congress in November, 2017 shortly after the second Convocation Ceremony of the University, and no doubt, his tenure witnessed some modest achievements. In addition, he is currently the elected Alumni Representative in the Governing Council awaiting Council's ratification.

The Vice-Chancellor, who has always acknowledged and advocated the developmental role of a virile Alumni Association to any higher institution of learning, has continued to give it the desired attention and priority, promising to bequeath a responsive FULAA that is alive to its responsibility at the end of his stewardship in FUL.

Professor Akinwumi promised to give the Alumni body the necessary support and carry its members along as worthy ambassadors and partners in progress in his aggressive developmental drive of building a world-class University.

While promising to justify the confidence reposed in him, Mr. Yusuf who expressed great delight after collecting his appointment letter from the Deputy Registrar, Human Resource, Mr. Vincent Ifedayo Ojo on behalf of the Registrar, thanked the University Management especially the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi for considering him worthy of the appointment.

The Alumni Officer would continue to champion the cause of the Association and ensure constant engagement with other alumni within and outside the country who are already making the University proud in their various fields of endeavours, among other responsibilities and functions.

Congratulations!
