As part of the requirement for the FULokoja Postgraduate School and the Institute of Governance and Development Studies, the FULokoja PhD Course 1 Class undertook a comprehensive tour of the FULokoja Permanent and Temporary Sites from Thursday, December 1st to Saturday, December 3rd, at Lokoja, Kogi State, Nigeria.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Olayemi Akinwumi and the Management team of the University accorded us deep courtesies to our admiration and honour.

The members of the FULokoja PhD Course 1 Class highly appreciate the warm hospitality extended to the class, the rich contents of the lectures presented; the high impact of the various educative strategic engagements and the exciting drama presentation in the evening.

Worthy of note is the conviviality the Vice-Chancellor extended to members of the FULokoja PhD Course 1 in the evening despite his very busy schedule.

As part of the core component of the field trip, the PhD Course 1 Class visited both the burnt complex of the Kogi State House of Assembly and the temporary House of Assembly building.

The Group expressed deep concerns over the unfortunate fire incident that gutted the Kogi State House of Assembly Complex. As a very important arm in democratic governance, the FULokoja PhD Course 1 Class strongly solicit the immediate reconstruction of the burnt building to enable the Assembly Members and staff to continue to deliver their constitutional mandate of lawmaking, oversight and representation.

The FULokoja PhD Course 1 Class, sincerely appreciates the Vice-Chancellor, the Management, Staff and the Students of FULokoja for their commitment to delivering a world-class University of the future. We equally appreciate the PhD Course 1 Class Governor, the Welfare and the Security Committees for their extraordinary show of leadership excellence that made this field trip a success.

Finally, the FULokoja PhD Course 1 Class, looks forward to partnering with the University Management and other key stakeholders in the development of the University. We look forward to future visits within the country, regionally and internationally.
