GROUNDBREAKING: FUL Medical Experts Conduct First Abdominal Surgery at Expanded Health Centre

Today, the University Health Services (UHS) of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) announced that it has conducted its first Elective Abdominal Surgery in the new theatre of the expanded and remodeled Health Center, which is also the first major surgery to be performed in the Clinic that is located at the Adankolo Campus of the University.
According to the Director UHS, Dr. Chinenye Otorkpa who personally supervised the procedure, the surgery was an appendectomy conducted on a 66-year-old woman by her team of medical experts including Dr. Joseph Salihu and Dr. Ajeh, the Lead Surgeon and Assistant respectively.
The Director further disclosed with great gusto that the patient was recuperating in the female ward at the College of Health Sciences, Adankolo Campus following the successful operation.
She expressed profound appreciation to the University Management under the leadership of Professor Olayemi Akinwumi for the efforts and tremendous support that led to this notable and unprecedented milestone recorded in the Health Services of the University.
