The Founder and Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), Oko-Irese, Kwara State, Engr. Dr. Johnson Bamidele Adewumi has expressed great delight and satisfaction in the performance of Professor Francisca Oladipo within the past six (6) months of taking over the mantle of leadership as the second Vice-Chancellor of TAU, saying she has exceeded all her set goals within a few months in office.

Dr. Adewumi made this known in a letter of appreciation written to the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Olayemi Akinwumi which the latter read to members of the Principal Officers Committee (POC) during its weekly meeting held recently.

In the feedback letter, TAU Founder expressed profound gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for releasing Professor Oladipo at a time the young University was in dire need of a forward-looking, result-oriented, and innovative VC to pilot the affairs and take it to an enviable height. 

The Chancellor who described Francisca as a pride not only to FUL and TAU alone but also to Nigeria at large, praised her parents for the good upbringing and sterling qualities she exudes, adding that Professor Akinwumi should be more proud to have raised such a worthy and exceptional mentee.

The commendation note which received thunderous applause from POC members reads in part:

"It is my pleasure to write this little note of appreciation for your magnanimity which allowed our University to obtain the services of Prof Francisca Oladipo at our hour of serious need. The 1st of Feb 2023 marks her first six-month in office as Vice Chancellor of TAU. 

"At her inauguration as 2nd Vice Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, you attested to her capacity, diligence, professionalism, and hard work. In her inauguration speech, she also sets 10 measurable goals for herself. It is my pleasure to inform you that she lived up to your expectations and surpassed the set goals.

"It is for these reasons that I am sending this note of appreciation to you. God used you to make it happen. And she proved to be a mentee of whom you can be proud. I celebrate and thank God for her parents who brought her up. Indeed, Francisca is a pride not only to TAU but to Nigeria. 

"I am hoping the young undergraduates in our University and the Staff that have the opportunity to work with her at close quarters will imbibe her culture and sense of duty for their own good."

Professor Akinwumi while reacting to the letter said that he was elated when he received the positive feedback on Professor Oladipo's impressive performance at TAU which he decided to read to other Principal Officers at the meeting. The VC therefore commended Professor Francisca for not disappointing him and the large FUL Community who accompanied her to Oko during her inauguration as TAU VC on 1st August, 2022. 

He further directed the Registrar, Dr. Mrs. Rebecca Aimiohu Okojie to communicate TAU Chancellor and equally write a strong commendation letter to Professor Oladipo on behalf of the entire University Management for a job well done so far, and for making the University proud.

Recall that Professor Francisca Oladipo was appointed the new VC of the fast-growing and one of Nigeria’s foremost STEM ecosystems - TAU after an extensive global search and a unanimous vote by the Board of Trustees in favour of the renowned ICT don.

Until her appointment at TAU was announced on 2nd July, 2022, Professor Oladipo was the Director, Quality Assurance and HOD, Computer Science at Federal University Lokoja. She also delivered the 8th Inaugural Lecture series of the University on the topic "If you wish to go FAR, go FAIRy: Reconnoitering an Emerging Computing Paradigm" on Wednesday, 16th November, 2022 which was attended by TAU Founder and his wife, among other dignitaries who graced the epoch-making event.
