A fresh graduate of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) from the Department of Computer Science, Gift Otohinoyi Ahmed, has emerged as the only Nigerian among the first graduates of the Microsoft Power Up Program, a 12-week skilling program designed to help non-technical professionals to successfully advance into a new career path in low-code application development using Microsoft Power Platform.

In a press statement captioned "Celebrating the first graduates of the Microsoft Power Up Program" posted on the Microsoft Power Apps platform on March 22, 2023, showing faces of different participants and their respective countries, the Principal PM Lead of the Power Up Program, Dimpi Gandhi said: "We're excited to announce that our first 18 learners have successfully graduated from the Microsoft Power Up Program, a 12-week skilling program designed to enable non-technical professionals to successfully advance their careers with low-code application development using Microsoft Power Platform technologies."

Among the 18 "Power Up Champs" who successfully completed the course, Gift is the only Nigerian to have graduated from the pilot cohort launched in October 2022 in three regions (Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe-Middle East-Africa).

"After lots of hard work by dedicated learners and Power Up Champs, 18 learners successfully graduated from the program. Each of these graduates has completed the required learning modules, attended required virtual sessions, and successfully developed an application that passed an assessment by a Power Up Champ," the statement further read.
