Dr. Samson Asaniyan Bags "Most Productive Staff Award" as FUL VC Graces NSUK 7th Convocation

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, on Saturday, graced the 7th Convocation Ceremony of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) where he presented a goodwill message on behalf of FUL to his counterpart, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed.

During the Convocation Ceremony also, Dr. Samson Asaniyan, the Director of Health Services of NSUK, who is currently on Sabbatical appointment with the University Health Services, FUL, received the "Most Productive Staff Award," which was presented to him by the Chief of Staff to the immediate past President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.

While presenting the award, the former Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari noted that the award was in recognition of Dr. Asaniyan's dedication and hard work which has impacted immensely on the growth and success of the State-owned Institution.

The epoch-making event, which witnessed the conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degrees on Professors Gambari and Holyst, also attracted the presence of many dignitaries, including the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State and Visitor to NSUK, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, the Chancellor of NSUK and Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, and Visiting Vice-Chancellors from other Universities who came to extend their goodwill to the twenty-one-year-old University.

It would be recalled that Professor Akinwumi, until he was appointed the third Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja in December 2020, worked at NSUK as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) under the current Vice-Chancellor, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, having previously served the University in various capacities including as Head of Department of History, Deputy Dean of Arts, Dean of Arts, two-term Chairman Committee of Deans and Directors, Director Institute of Governance and Development Studies, Dean School of Postgraduate Studies, and Senate Representative in the Governing Council, among other positions.
