Biochemistry students of the Federal University Lokoja have been challenged to work hard in order to graduate with impressive grades at the end of their studies.

Speaking at the combined orientation program of batch B and C students of the Department of Biochemistry held at the University's Auditorium on Friday, May 12, 2023, Professor Sunday E. Atawodi, Head of the Department, charged the students to be of good behaviour and shun examination malpractices, cultism, and bad influence, among other vices.

The orientation program, which was designed to provide students with the necessary guidance and direction on the new campus environment as they begin their academic journey, saw the presentation of awards of excellence to students who performed creditably well and emerged among the top three CGPAs after their 100 and 200 level examinations.

The event was put together by the Department to provide an early guide/template for the Batch B and C students, motivate them to study hard, and create a solid foundation for academic success.

Among those honoured at the auspicious event included: David Otidi (200L), Sunday James Micheál (200L), Shelter Ojochenemi Yakubu (200L), Godwin Amodu (300L), James Usman (300L), Peace Achenyo Friday (300L), and Mary Oni (300L).

While encouraging the students to take their studies seriously, Professor Atawodi emphasized the need for the students to work hard from the outset to earn a good CGPA at the end of their studies in FUL.

Delivering his goodwill message, the Students Union President, Comrade Agada Achiever, praised the Department for organizing the orientation program at an early stage of the students' stay on campus. Click here to see more pictures
