Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras have become increasingly important in today's society. These surveillance devices play a crucial role in enhancing security and safety in various settings, ranging from public spaces and businesses to residential areas. The importance of CCTV cameras lies in their ability to deter crime, provide valuable evidence, and enhance the security of critical infrastructure and public safety.

It is against this background that a staff of Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Mr. Empire O. Iweha, donated some high-quality CCTV cameras and accessories to the University Farm, to enhance the security of the facilities and equipment at the new Agribusiness Incubation (Cassava Processing) Center which was completed and handed over to the University in February this year by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) through its agricultural interventions in Nigerian Universities.

During the presentation of the items on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, who received the security gadgets in the company of the Chief Security Officer and the Farm Manager, among other top officials in his office, thanked the donor for the kind gesture. He reiterated Management's ongoing efforts and commitment towards ensuring the safety of lives and properties within the campuses.

The Vice-Chancellor promised to extend the installation of the CCTV cameras and other security devices beyond the main gate and the Farm Center to other locations across the Permanent Site, Felele to give members of the University Community, particularly staff and students, some sense of security.

Some of the items donated include 8Ch Hikvision IP embedded voice over HD DVR, HD bullet Cameras, HD dome cameras, a carton of RJ59 video/power cable, 1TB surveillance hard disk, BNC connectors, power connectors, a power box, surveillance mic, and HDMI cable.

Also, it would be recalled that Mr. Iweha earlier in March 2021, made a similar donation to the University to support the administration of Professor Akinwumi upon his assumption of office as the 3rd Vice-Chancellor of the twelve-year-old Institution. Click here to see more pictures
