The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences has won the 3rd edition of the Annual Inter-Faculty Sports Competition.
The Faculty won the football trophy after a tensed game that ended in a draw (1-1) and subsequently went into penalty shoot-outs. The Faculty also won gold medals in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 4x100m and 4x400m in athletics while their rival (Faculty of Science) won the volleyball, basketball and chess in the competition.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Angela Freeman Miri commended the Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajana for his sacrifice and contribution to sports in the State. Professor Miri also call on the students to embrace sports noting that it would go a long way in enhancing their wellbeing among other benefits.
