Some friends of the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Olayemi Akinwumi in Canada have keyed into his developmental program by donating multi-million naira medical equipment to the University. The shipment which contained medical supplies and university books was donated by Dr. Uche Nwankwo, in collaboration with International HOPE Canada. The items were received at the FUL College of Health Sciences, Adankolo, on May 10, 2024.

Filled with joy, the Vice-Chancellor, while receiving the equipment alongside the two Deputy Vice-Chancellors, the acting Registrar, and the Chief Security Officer, expressed profound gratitude to the donors. He noted that while the medical supplies were free, the University only paid for the shipping, clearing, and transportation.

In a remark after inspecting the equipment, the Director of the University Health Services, Dr. Chinenye Oche Otorkpa, stated that the medical equipment was enough to start a new hospital.

This gesture, no doubt, would complement the Vice-Chancellor’s efforts aimed at ensuring that the medical program established by his administration gets the needed support and funding to fulfill its obligations and in preparation for the accreditation, which will be conducted in the not-too-distant future.
