Dr. Abu Maji was born to the family of Alhaji Maji Adaji on 15th June, 1958. Attended Ochaja Secondary School, Ochaja, 1972 – 1976, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 1979 – 1982, 1985 – 1986, 1989 – 1992 and 2008 – 2014 for West African School Certificate (WASC), First Degree in Economics, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Master of Science Degree and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Economics. Dr. Maji has worked with Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa, 1983 – 1994, Kogi State University, Anyigba, 2002 – 2017 and currently with Federal University, Lokoja as a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Acting Head of Department of Banking and Finance. Dr. Maji has supervised many Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in Kogi State University, Anyigba and National Open University of Nigeria, Lokoja Study Centre. He has been a Head of Department of Economics, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, and Director, Advancement and Support Centre, all in Kogi State University, Anyigba. He was also a member of Governing Council, Kogi State University, Anyigba (2006 – 2008). Dr. Maji is a member of Nigerian Economics Society, Nigerian Institute of Management and Institute of Chartered Economists. Dr. Maji is a Muslim by faith, happily married to Ajara Nanacha Maji and is blessed with children.
