Lecturer
Olayiwola Isaac Babarinsa (Ph.D.) is a Mathematics Lecturer at
Federal University Lokoja. He was a
Postdoctoral Researcher in Mathematics at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan in 2019,
and a Graduate Assistant at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2016. In 2011, he was a part-time lecturer at the University of London: International program (via Centre for Law and Businesses). He obtained his Doctoral degree from
the Universiti Sains Malaysia and is now the Co-supervisor I of a Ph.D.
student at the University. He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education
from the National Open University of Nigeria and was recently appointed as
an external facilitator of an online course (Linear Algebra) together with
supervision at the University. He had both a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics/Statistics
and an M.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the University of Lagos. He also obtained a National Diploma at Yaba College of Technology.
He is an expert at (Linear) algebra and a potential graph theorist. In his collaboration distance, he has Erdόs number 4 and Dijkstra number 5. His research interests are in Graph theory and Matrix theory with applications in Statistics, Scientific computing, Operations research, and Cryptography. Within these research areas, he had published 1 edited volume, 6 conference proceedings, 10 books of abstracts, and more than 20 refereed journal articles (locally and internationally). He is skilled in computational packages such as MATLAB, SageMath, and SPSS. He reviews for the Journal of Mathematics Research and he is an Editorial Board Member of Applied and Computational Mathematics; and the International Journal of Contemporary Advanced Mathematics. He is a member of the Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN), Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Nigerian Mathematical Society (NMS), Institute for Operations Research of Nigeria (INFORN), Nigerian Institute of Industrial Statisticians (NIIS), and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He participated in volunteering/non-profit activities such as being a volunteer lecturer at Lecturers Without Borders, a volunteer teacher at Reaged Educational Consultancy Ltd, and USM's Student Ambassador at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Having participated in 5 local conferences and 10 international conferences with 9 international workshop seminars and being a confident presenter, he was awarded the best presenter at the ICOAIMS 2017 conference, the Graduate on Time award for Doctor of Philosophy, and a certificate of contribution for the Malaysian Three Minutes Thesis competition, etc. To improve and make learning easy, he voluntarily makes mathematics videos on his YouTube channel (YouTube) for College and University students.
