Dr. Timothy Onimisi, completed his Bachelor's degree (BSc) at Kogi State University, Anyigba, in the field of Political Science with a second class upper division. He did his National Youth Service Corps as an Administrative Officer at Ilejemeje Local Government Secretariat, Iye, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Dr. Timothy Onimisi obtained his Master's Degree (MSc) in Political Science from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria; and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) at National Teachers’ Institute an affiliate of the National Open University of Nigeria. He obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D.) from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He joined Federal University Lokoja as a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science in November 2013. His articles have appeared in several reputable National and International Journals. Dr. Timothy Onimisi has presented papers at both local and international conferences, and as a special guest in many fora.

Dr. Timothy Onimisi is an extraordinary researcher in the field of public policy, elections, governance, and international relations. He has an understanding of what scholarly research entails. Dr. Timothy Onimisi has strong research, analytical, and teaching skills, and excellent at formulating, analyzing, and evaluating qualitative data. He is good at understanding the importance of institutional objectives, excellent interpersonal relationships, and team spirit. He can work under pressure and a tight reporting schedule. He has the intellectual capacity, analytical and critical thinking skills, and above all his enthusiasm for public policy research, elections, governance, and international relations made him exceptional. He has served as a collation officer and supervising the preceding officer at various times in Nigeria's general elections. Dr. Timothy Onimisi, through the collective efforts of himself and other colleagues, has won and completed a couple of research grants and study fellowship.
